Vad är det rent teoretiskt och praktiskt för skillnad mellan metallhalogen och vanliga halogenlampor?

Är det inte alltför stor skillnad känns det ju som om en 500w halogenlampa från clas ohlson i rätt spektrum borde fungera som ett komplement istället för en mh-lampa?
