Symbiont consists of fully porous pellets in which billions of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria can thrive to degrade ammonium, nitrite and nitrate. It is a very safe, inert and efficient biological filter medium, which saves a lot of space in the filter. Symbiont is made of premium sintered glass and has a superior surface area available to bacteria. It works intensively and for a long period of time.

Symbiont allows both nitrifying and denitrifyig bacteria to grow in a single pellet, effectively getting rid of toxic compounds and prevent green water.

With a proven prosity of 42%, Symbiont has usable specific area of 680 m2 / 7300 sq ft per kg, about the size of 3 basketball courts. Bio-balls only have less then 20 m2 / 200 Sq ft per kilo. This saves you the amount of space and filter media required to build biological filter.
