Exposure to chronic elevated temperature and/or reduced pH had a minimal effect on average O₂ production when measured at a static acclimation temperature. These results are in line with some studies on tropical coralline algae, where reduced pH (Comeau et al., 2016) or the combination of elevated temperature and reduced pH (Page and Diaz-Pulido, 2020) had little to no effect on O₂ production.
