Nedanstående är ett citat från boken "Reef Secrets" Nilsen & Fosså "Within the first few month after setup, the aquarist will nearly always observe considerable changes in the growth of algae. The normal succession of algae growth will start with brown diatoms and blue-green algae, which may grow considerably for a period of 20-25 days. Thereafter, filamentous algae such as the green Derbesia and Bryopsis species, will take over and frequently dominate the tank for some month. At the same time as these begine to decline, more welcome algae, like coralline red algae, will start to spread. This is a natural course of events in the aquarium and no reason to panic."
