Hi

After 3 years break I am back again with newest monster tank from Red Sea, a Reefer 3XL 900.

When I knew I am going to do this, I also made plan for solar panels on the roof to support the electricity consumption 😄

It took 3 months for tank to get here in Stockholm and now it sits in my carport until I find 5-6 strong đŸ’Ș men to help me bring it inside.

Tank is inside after a week.

Thanks to Akvarielagret for the suction cups and my neighbours for the help.

I rent a transportvagn with the ability to lift which helped the move easier...

Saltwater mixing station is done after a lot of work and trial and errors.

Next step will be building/modifying the cabinet for controllers...6a9961599a701220fae9d2d2163ebff9.jpg

How’s it going with the setup? Any fish or corals yet?
Its going slow...
First 3 fish (2 clowns and a cardinal) out of quarantine 2 weeks ago and in the tank.
Still no light since I am waiting forever on XR15 slide brackets.

No corals yet but in a week 4 tangs (yellow, blue, purple and naso blonde) and a lawnmower will be out of quarantine and in the display

Hi
Yes its always good to quarantine...
Once I lost a lot to Ich so now I will quarantine everything.

What I do is first I put them in one of my 3 quarantine tanks and feed them for couple of days until they are happy in new tank...then I start with copper slowly until reaching therapeutic level...leave them in copper for 30 days then 100% water change and deworm with API General Cure for two weeks...
After all of these I put a black molly I converted to saltwater in the tank with them and see if it get sick or not...because they are black and their immune system doesn't know any saltwater disease you can spot it easily...so if the black molly is healthy after a week you are good to go.

For corals I plan to do a 76 days fishless quarantine.

I use Copper power because its not as harsh as Cupramine and easier to get right.
I measure with Hanna copper checker...very accurate and easy to use.
