farham60
Yesterday was very hot, the door was closed and I forgot to open a window aswell. Resulted to high temperatures in all of my 4 quarantine tanks and low oxygen in water. Unfortunately in a populated tank with 7 anthias, a midas belenny and a small yellow tang my efforts to bring down temperature failed and I lost the belenny and the yellow tang My bad luck/stupidity continues with the yellow tangs.
Jois
Oh, sry to hear that Yes, it was really warm yesterday. And you had almost completed the quarantine time of 30 days? A air conditioner would be nice to have these warm days.

A air conditioner would be nice to have these warm days. Yes it was almost done All quarantine aquariums are in a small room and because of a 2 years old daughter we close the door usually. My mind was somewhere else yesterday (I lost my cousin aswell ) and totally forgot that the room facing south can get hot pretty fast.Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk
Kim Rosenqvist
So sorry to hear this Farham! Always a stress to beat the heat during the hot summer days (for us who don't have AC).

farham60
Thanks. Mine sits 20 cm off bottom on plexi stand. I did this on previous tank as well. Water is forced through fleese due to gravity. Fleese will last longer. My roll was new on Sunday. I will let you know how long it lasts.Hi.I made a stand last night.Hopefully the roll will stand longer like this.Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

farham60
You checked with seneye already right? Was PAR more or less from what you measured before?? Yes. It was less.I had to turn my lights from 75% *set by Seneye) to 100% (set by Apogee) to get 300-350 PARApogee MQ-510 is made for LED underwater measurement so I will go with this (raising from 75 to 100% in 30 days) and see if my corals like it or not. They are not doing good now but I suspect other factors are in play than light for my STN problem. Phosphorus was 0. Had to dose phosphate for few days...raised it to 7 before my vacation last week and now its 4 ppb (0.012 ppm) Alkalinity came down from 9.1 to 8 in a week Tomorrow Trident and DOS will arrive so I will have it hooked up to Apex. Also planning to experiment with kalkwasser

farham60
Few seconds before the lights go out I witnessed my Lyretail Anthias spawning... It was unexpected and very cool to watch that.

Much better built and easier to use...it is not connected yet since I had no time this weekend...hopefully I will do it by the end of this week
farham60
Well I manage to take an extra line from RO/DI reservoir under the stairs and make a small station for kalkwasser stirrer... For now dosing 1 liter per day seems to be enough to keep alkalinity at 9 dkh. Also say hello to my little friend
